Best Milwaukee Brewers Betting Predictions
Last season we saw the Milwaukee Brewers secure a playoff spot in the National League. This was the team’s first time earning a playoff seat since 1982. They ended up being defeated against Washington Nationals, who then moved on to win the World Series.
The off-season saw the Brewers undergo some massive changes. The team lost some major star power with the loss of Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal. However, there is still some power left with Christian Yelich, last year’s NL MVP runner up.
As one of the few teams to have never won the World Series, the Brewers certainly don’t lack motivation. It remains to be seen if the third time will be the charm to finally lead the team to the World Series. There’s no doubt that betting on the Brewers will be exciting in 2020!
History of Milwaukee Brewers
Now, moving on from Milwaukee Brewers betting, we will take a look at the club’s long history.
What is now the Milwaukee Brewers started out as a different franchise. The club was established in 1969 as the Pilots in Seattle Washington. It took only one year for the team to relocate to Milwaukee and change the name to Brewers.
In that year, the club also started playing at the Milwaukee County Stadium. Being originally part of the American League, in 1998 the team joined the National League. Together with the Houston Astros, the Brewers are the only two franchises that have switched their leagues.
In its long history, the Milwaukee Brewers have had few major successes. So far, they only had one appearance in the World Series in 1982. They lost 4-3 to St. Louis Cardinals.
For the time being, the Brewers remain one of only six other MLB teams without a single World Series title. The Brewers won one East Division title in the American League in 1982 and two National League Central Division titles in 2011 and 2018.
There are four players with MVP titles while playing for the Brewers. Rollie Fingers got the award while the Brewers were in the American League in 1981 and Robin Yount got it in 1982 and 1989. Following the team’s switch to the National League, in 2011 Ryan Braun, and in 2018 Christian Yelich got the title.
